Overview:
‘Out of Time’ is Quinn's first major solo show in London.
The two main works are ‘May – September, 1991’ and ‘Self’.
‘May – September, 1991’ consists of several hundred bread hands. Each dough hand is etched with the lines of Quinn’s palm and through the baking process each one is rendered unique. The complete sculpture suggests the infinite number of possible moments that make up our future.
‘Self’ is a frozen cast of the artist’s head made from his own blood. This sculpture, held in suspended animation, addresses the precarious nature of all our lives. It is quite an extraordinary and ambitious piece of work.
