Overview:

The Sonsbeek exhibition is not about escaping into a fictional aesthetic world, a world of pretty illusions, but the artists’ projects have to deal with the real issues that face the interior self, the body and its relation to its surroundings. It is essentially an exhibition about fact and reality, a show which searches for the truth. It’s about one’s identification with a particular place, person or thing.

The show is about process more than the static product. It is a critical investigation of identity; the idea of the individual’s relation to a specific place. The landscape and architecture of Arnhem and its immediate environs contain the perfect ingredients for this inquiry.
