This year celebrates the 10th anniversary of Beyond Limits. The exhibition focuses on the fascinating world of post-war and contemporary sculpture.

The Duke of Devonshire commented that "it is always a delight to see fresh works in these historic settings and the rich heritage of British sculpture appears to be stronger than ever."

Quinn's work in the show, Held by Desire (Square Root), is a 2.5 metre bronze bonsai tree. Quinn says, "the bonsai is very interesting because there is no such thing as a ‘bonsai tree’. There are only trees; and the bonsai tree is a tree that has had its roots pruned. It’s like the tree has been subjugated to human desire and interference its whole life."
